Okay, so it's not exactly babysitting...
Okay, time for a true confession. I signed up for Diigo over a year ago, made some bookmarks, and then never opened it again. I heard some talk about it, I told myself "Hey, I should really check that out sometime", but I just never quite got around to it. Until today. I have a group on Voxer (a text messaging app with voice features - you can have big group chats, too) who are discussing the article Beyond the LMS by Audrey Watters - it gives us a great place to verbally process thoughts related to the article and how it relates to our work. Based on Will Richardson's (2010) description of the group notes feature, I thought that Diigo would be a great place to collaboratively mark-up the article and have a written conversation about it as well. It has been a little tricky to set up a group in Diigo and to figure out which annotation elements are visible to group members, but we're figuring it out. I'm looking forward to trying out the open bookmarking portion as well. I use Evernote a lot for this feature, but it's a big drawback to have to share each individual notebook. I love the groups feature in Diigo and think I might end up importing a lot of my Evernote notes and tags into Diigo (I hope that there is an automated option for this!).
