This course prepared me to be a leader in my school's blended learning initiative through the use of our Learning Management System (LMS). It reinforced my belief that clear expectations and timely communication are essential for any blended or online course. I hope to put my learning from this class into practice immediately next school year as we expand our blended learning program and develop a set of best practices for effective online instruction and assessment.
In this course, I learned about the iNACOL standards and how they serve as a guideline to what quality online & blended learning look like. I explored the various models of blended learning, and had the opportunity to create a syllabus, a unit plan, and a module plan for an online course. We learned a great deal about different implementations of blended & online learning at different schools across the United States and around the world. I especially enjoyed learning about the resources offered by the Clayton Christensen Institute.
