I really enjoyed reading the perspectives of my classmates in the weekly discussions. From my perspective at a large district, it helps to hear from others and have a point of comparison for our technology plans. Hearing about the experiences at the classroom from teachers helps me paint a picture of the end product of positive technology leadership that I can take back to my job on a daily basis.
Developing the SWOT was the most valuable part of the class to me, because I really had to go in-depth into how we are meeting (or not meeting) several of ISTE's Essential Conditions. Talking to district leaders throughout the process helped me to refine my perspective and to identify some key areas for growth, both professionally for myself and for our district as it relates to standards-based instructional technology planning.
